The 54th Duffers on July 7th, 2009 was more historic then we realized at the time as it was Ray’s final Duffers, Ray has always been a big part of The Duffers, we were fortunate to be working with Ray in the months leading up to the event with allot of work and laughs. Duffer’s founder Remo (Ray) Ferracuti suddenly passed away August 14, 2009. We had a plan to re-energize/re-invent the event so that all our participants had a great time with good camaraderie, excellent food, great prizes.
This vision/plan will be continued as our contribution efforts will develop and our donation to The Duffers.
Prior to Ray’s passing Paul Lonergan called Father Nino Cavoto & Father John Vetere to assist at The 55th 2010 Duffers with the itinerary for our after golf part of the day – what better authorities to implement timeliness & efficiency – Fr. Nino & Fr. John have agreed to attend on July 13, 2010 at Caledon Woods.
The professional staff are on hand at all times to give lessons and to make all visitors feel welcome making sure they thoroughly enjoy their golfing holidays.
At Ray’s funeral mass there were 9 priests led by Fr. Nino & Fr. John and 1,000 people attended the wake. Ray was a unique character, a great man loved by so many, rich with family, friends and their love for him!
Last year when Ray & Paul were organizing the event Ray tackled the challenges with an unwavering determination. The heart and spirit of Ray will live on forever with The Duffers… soon there will be four generations of Duffers!!!
Ray will be missed, we know he is with us in spirit each step of the way.
